2012 New York Auto Show Personal Experience

So, the experience of the New York Auto show 2012 show was in a word “Amazing”. I would say that each car manufacture brought their “A” game but there were a few that might have missed the mark a bit as well. My trip was highlighted with a “private tour”, very nice when you don’t want people all around you trying to get pictures and sitting in the car as well” along with learning more about the pricing and new technology that you will be seeing in the future from all manufactures. So, without further pause, I will let you in on my NY auto show 2012 experience.

First, I have to say the car manufacture that was most successful with people all over the cars was Hyundai. The cars that they are adding plus the sheer number of people that were requesting information were phenomenal and with some of the new additions to the Elantra and Sonata I believe it’s a company on the rise with the big three(Toyota, Ford, Honda). The New York Auto show 2012 would be incomplete with out the big three which I briefly talked about and the one that stands out the most is Honda. Honda has made a huge push in the area of design just looking at the pictures and their new hybrid technology as well. The paint on the cars were just outstanding compared to some manufactures eg Ford, Toyota( We saw pink and peach color cars not something I would drive, yes I realize it comes in other colors but when its an the NY auto show 2012 I feel its imperative to stick with red, more plain colors).  So, all this NY auto show 2012 talks how about the big guns meaning the hybrids and luxury cars, oh, they were there so let’s get to them now.

It would not be the New York Auto show 2012 in my eyes with out the luxury cars. Bmw, Lexus, Porsche, Audi, Infinity and the rest were well represented. My only problem and concern regarding most of the cars in this NY auto show 2012 is that the cars were not available to be seated in except for a few. I do know the reasons behind it (simply asked someone) they don’t want our grubby hands all over it but it kind of kills the atmosphere when you in an international car show. One of the most impressive cars and continues to churn out more and more is Audi. Audi has really taken the luxury car market as their technology and features surpass most if not all cars in the field.

This year the big draw to the New York Auto show 2012 had to be the flying car. I happened to be looking at other cars before the line started to get filled but it was truly amazing to see a vehicle turn into a plane which kind of reminded me something I would see from the Jetsons. The NY auto show 2012 also had monster trucks, vendors on the top floor (some of them nice and some not) and of course what show would be complete without a ride on a new 2013 Jeep Cherokee that went over a rough course but the lines were an hour long so that was not really an option. One big change from this New York Auto show 2012 then from previous ones were that you could like the car or on to your facebook by their computer. I thought it was very smart advertising on the part of the car manufactures that not only they have likes by you but that they can contact you as well. So, where does this New York Auto show 2012 rank in comparison to other shows? Its hard to answer that since I have been a regular since 1998 and the technology from that NY auto show can’t compare but this one ranks on top as being one of the better ones. Now, how do you make next year’s experience better if you want to attend the NY auto show 2012 or later of course? If you’re a member of AAA or your going with a group you can get discounts on your tickets. I found that I like to get their before the huge crowd shows up so buying an early day pass is the way to go as I received them for free. Lastly, make sure that you bring plenty of memory for your camera as I almost ran out and had to use my phone for some of the pictures but nothing can beat the  NY auto show 2012 and its an event you will never forgot.

The 2013 Toyota 4Runner

SUVs may be incredibly popular these days but they were originally created for a fairly specific purpose. Blending together the utility found in a truck or Jeep with the comfort and style of a high end sedan, the SUV was created to take people to places that other vehicles couldn’t. While many people use their SUVs for fairly mundane tasks, others still view it as their ticket to adventure. With the popularity of SUVs being so high it seems that almost every auto maker is creating at least a few SUVs. The problem is that many of these modern SUVs aren’t truly designed for rugged adventure and this seems to be watering down the enthusiasm that people have for these vehicles. The 2013 Toyota 4Runner, however, is still an SUV that is meant to be outdoors.

Toyota is a reliable company that has been making a number of different cars for a while. Rather than being a niche company, like some other manufacturers, Toyota has a full line of vehicles ranging from sedans to trucks, SUVs and even a few hybrids. This has helped ensure that Toyota is one of the leading auto makers in the world. One thing that people respect about Toyota is that some of their vehicles, like the Tundra, are fairly reliable utility vehicles that don’t skimp on driver comfort. The new 2013 4Runner comes from this class of rugged Toyota products and should please anyone looking for a reliable adventure vehicle.

The 2013 Hyundai Veloster

It seems to be a safe bet that the auto industry has something for just about everyone. From sports cars to SUVs and luxury sedans, there is something to fit almost every need. The problem that many people face, however, is that they eventually need the passenger and storage room available in something like a minivan but they want to drive something attractive, powerful and fun. This is where the hatchback comes in. As a bit of a cross between a sedan, SUV and minivan, the hatchback offers plenty of room with all the power you could want. The new 2013 Hyundai Veloster is set to provide some tough competition for the hatchback market.

The Veloster is an interesting car and many people were surprised with the past model. One of the most unique aspects of this hatchback is the exterior design. While it may, at first, look like other cars of this type, the 2013 Veloster is a sleek and stylish vehicle. The lines are clean and rounded without being bulbous. It seems that many modern cars are either boxy or bulbous but the Veloster is a nice compromise between the two. Even sitting still, this new hatchback looks like it’s ready to speed down an open highway. One thing that really sets this car apart from the others, however, is the fact that it has three doors. While it looks like it only has two, the third door can be found on the rear passenger side.

The 2013 Hyundai Sonata

Hyundai has been a steadily growing company for a while now but they still seem to have trouble beating out other giants such as Honda. Known for creating stylish and reliable rides, Hyundai simply hasn’t quite killed its competition. Never the less, some of their offerings, such as the Sonata, have turned out to be quite popular. Hyundai has shown us that they know how to design a very attractive car that, while sharing a class with other vehicles, stands on its own in terms of beauty and engineering. The 2013 Sonata is Hyundai’s latest attempt to beat out their current competition and continue to offer Hyundai fans the type of cars they expect.

The 2013 Hyundai Sonata is a sedan and, as such, it will have a fair bit of competition with the other 2013 cars being released shortly. The Sonata has come a long way since its first generation in the 1980s. Many American auto fans may not recognize this older Sonata because it failed to meet US emissions requirements and was not available in the US market. It sold relatively well in the markets it was available in, however, and Hyundai determined to improve it. Over the past few decades the engineers at Hyundai have done a fine job of keeping in tune with the current trend in automotive styling and have tried to create a more ecologically friendly vehicle.

The 2013 Honda Accord

Honda is easily one of the biggest names in the automotive industry and has been responsible for some of the most popular cars throughout the world. Some of their cars, such as the Civic, have become so incredibly popular that they are almost a category unto themselves. While Honda has also been known for creating a few different vehicles, motorcycles included, they have always produced reliable and appreciated family sedans. Set to debut next spring, the 2013 Honda Accord should continue to carry on the Honda name well into the future.

Previous models of the Accord have been very popular among fans of the sedan class. At one time, the Accord was even considered to be the best vehicle in the class of family sedans, a position which has won it quite a few fans. There have been, however, a few disappointments for Accord fans in recent times, disappointments which Honda hopes to correct with its 2013 Accord. Many fans have complained about the lackluster styling found in the most recent models. While slightly older models were very attractive and offered a nice design aesthetic, fans have complained that recent models were relatively boring and did little to set the Accord apart from other sedans.

The 2013 Toyota Corolla

Despite the changing climate surrounding the auto industry, it seems that there will always be a place for a respectable sedan. Toyota is easily one of the top car manufacturers in the world and they understand that, while some people may want a sporty vehicle, others are looking for something a bit more practical. The Toyota Corolla has been one of the best selling models this company has yet produced. Known as a spacious and reliable vehicle, the Corolla has been a favorite throughout many levels of society. While many of the specs are still being kept under wraps, we can be sure that the 2013 Corolla will continue to offer a reliable ride.

Toyota is still keeping much of the information surrounding the new 2013 Corolla a secret but we can glean a small bit of information from previous models. The Corolla has traditionally been a sedan that offered plenty of room and comfort without over doing anything. The new Corolla models should continue this tradition of reliability and driving enjoyment into the coming years. There has, however, been some speculation as to whether or not Toyota will be releasing a two door coupe version of the Corolla. While it may seem a bit odd to release a coupe version of a car meant for a sedan market, it seems that the current trend in the auto market is leaning towards this outcome.

The 2013 Volkswagen CC

Volkswagen is a company that has been around for a while and has survived on its reputation for fine engineering and reliable vehicles. When most people think of a VW they will think of the iconic Beetle. While the Beetle is popular and an easily noticeable icon of the automotive arts Volkswagen has also become known for creating some of the nicest full sized sedans as well. The new 2013 Volkswagen CC is the latest addition to the VW line up and it looks like it’s ready to continue the popularity of this auto maker.

The 2013 Volkswagen CC is a four door sedan. This sets it apart from what many people expect from VW in that it is larger than a Beetle and is somewhat more conservative in its overall design aesthetic. While Volkswagen may have been known for creating hippy vans and cute little cars the 2013 CC looks like the perfect fit for someone looking for reliability but not flash or extravagance. To say that there are more glamorous looking cars on the rode right now would be an understatement. The CC isn’t meant to be sexy or really turn heads but it isn’t an ugly car by any means.

The New 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee

When it comes to powerful vehicles meant for some harsh conditions, the Jeep nameis a legend. From the day the first one debuted, auto fans knew that the Jeep was something special. Well known for going almost anywhere under any condition, the Jeep was, for a long time, more utility than luxury. Recent decades have changed this fact, however, and there are now plenty of Jeeps to choose from. While some people may need off road capabilities, others want a comfortable and stylish ride with the pickup needed to get through tough conditions. This is where the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee fits perfectly.

The Grand Cherokee is a bit of a departure from the granddaddy jeeps of decades past. Where the old jeeps were rough and tough, the new models are designed with modern sensibilities and requirements in mind. A good Jeep can be the perfect addition to a family or can be a portal to outdoor adventure. No matter what you may have in mind for your Jeep, the 2013 Grand Cherokee seems to be a nice addition to the Jeep line. The Cherokee may be a bit different from what we normally think of when we hear the name Jeep but it is a thoroughly modern and exciting car.

The 2013 Toyota Camry

Toyota is a company that has been known for creating a full line of dependable vehicles. A maker of cars, trucks, SUVs and hybrids, Toyota is one of the preeminent auto manufacturers in the world today. While they may have a fairly diverse line of products, their designers pay special attention to the intended uses of the vehicles and the desires of their owners. Some of their SUVS and trucks even offer tough competition in what is often considered to be an American market. The Camry has been one of Toyota’s most popular cars for a while now and they are seeking to update this car with the new 2013 Camry.

Information surrounding the new 2013 Toyota Camry is still being kept a bit of a secret as they are still focusing their marketing efforts on the 2012 model. When looking at past offerings from this line of cars it’s easy to see why they are so popular. Blending the power and reliability expected in a Toyota with high class styling, plenty of features and luxury level comfort, the Camry has long been one of the more ideal offerings in the sedan market. While there will always be over priced luxury cars, the reasonable price of the Camry has opened the possibility of ownership to a broader range of customers.

The 2013 Mitsubishi Evo XI

Mitsubishi is a car manufacturer which has its eyes on the future.  Long known for producing a line of attractive, and often sporty, vehicles, they are now turning their focus to meeting modern emissions standards and “going green”.  While this generally means a reduction in both style and power for other companies, Mitsubishi is trying to keep everything that fans loved about the Lancer and turn it into an eco friendly hybrid.  The last Evo was possibly one of the best cars that this company has ever offered and the 2013 Mitsubishi Evo XI looks ready to continue this trend.

Much of the information surrounding the Mitsubishi Evo XI is still being kept a closely guarded secret but we have seen some of the concepts and heard a few different rumors about its specs.  The overall concept behind the new Evo is to blend a reliable sporty car with the benefits of a hybrid without losing anything in the translation.  Some car fans have been a bit worried after hearing that the manufacturer wanted to create a hybrid version of one of their best cars.  Hybrids are known for being eco-conscious and fuel efficient but aren’t exactly known for their speed or power.  Mitsubishi is looking to change that with the new Evo XI.
