2013 Ford Escape

Sport utility vehicles have been popular since their inception and seem to have grown steadily larger and less fuel efficient.  While this trend was popular among car buyers for a while, the monstrous size that some SUVs have is a bit much for some car buyers.  Many people appreciate both the power and roominess found in SUVs but want something a bit smaller and more manageable and this is why the crossover was created.  Ford has long been known for making trucks and SUVs but they also make smaller, yet very attractive, crossovers and this is where the 2013 Ford Escape comes into play.

Some of Ford’s other offerings are quite large and can be a bit much for someone who doesn’t need an F450 Superduty or Excursion.  These vehicles are perfect for certain conditions and have been very popular among their targeted audiences but they fail to fill the niche which is home to the crossover.  The crossover seems to be the perfect car for someone who wants Ford’s reliability and power, plenty of room for passengers and storage but want something that will fit into their garage.  It seems like the new 2013 Ford Escape is the perfect vehicle for this type of buyer.

The Escape has actually been one of Ford’s most popular vehicles in recent years and with good reason.  Its style offers buyers a very attractive ride, its roominess allows for plenty of storage and its Ford machinery makes it reliable.  The Escape is also at home on quiet suburban streets, a crowded urban canyon and even some fairly rough terrain and driving conditions.  All of this combines to make the new 2013 Escape the perfect vehicle for people looking for a little more than a sedan but less than a large truck.

One of the most notable aspects of the Ford Escape 2013 model is the aggressive new styling.  The Escape has never really been an ugly car by any means but the new design really creates an eye catching vehicle.  Representing a bit of a departure from past models, the new design is much smoother and appears to be much more aerodynamic.  The front end is nicely shaped with modern design sensibilities and sports a very open grill.  The front and hood are also accented with some tastefully added creases and details.  Moving towards the back, the windshield is at a more dramatic angle and flows up to the top quite nicely.  All of this allows for plenty of room for the interior and a reduction in drag of about 10% over previous models.

The interior of the 2013 Escape has also been redesigned with a highly detailed modern aesthetic.  Matching the exterior quite well, it seems that almost every inch of the interior has been sculpted and designed to add an extra touch of luxury to this crossover.  The dash itself is nicely sculpted and flows into the doors quite well.  There is no end of buttons, readouts and screens in the dash but it has been constructed in such a way as to not be overly cluttered or unattractive.  The MyFord Touch screen is a bit more prominent than the other features but it fits nicely into the overall design.

The 2013 Ford Escape will also come with a few different engines to choose from.  One is a 2.5 liter Duratec which offers front wheel drive while the other two are 1.6 liter and 2.0 liter EcoBoost engines with the option for intelligent four wheel drive.  These EcoBoost engines are also part of Ford’s effort to create a greener crossover.  Much of the materials used in the construction of the new Escape are not only eco-friendly, such as the plant seed based foam in the seats, but are recycled such as the post industrial fibers used in the carpeting.  All of this tells us that Ford is serious about creating a car which is better for the environment but doesn’t skimp on power.  This power is evident in the fact that the Escape, with the optional tow package, can actually pull about 3500 pounds without any serious reduction in its overall performance.

The Escape is one of Ford’s most popular vehicles and when you consider all of the benefits it has over other cars it’s quite easy to see why.  The new Ford Escape 2013 models are even more attractive than their predecessors, with sleek modern lines and an interior to match, this is definitely a car that will catch more than a few looks as you drive by.  The reliable Ford engineering and power that is packed into this attractive ride makes it a very trustworthy vehicle, no matter what you may be doing with it.  The sheer number of eco-friendly improvements means you can be proud to be driving such a modern car while the tech inside of it means you won’t be missing out on anything.  The 2013 Escape is definitely a car to look out for.
